We had a brief period of time when the site was down. Seems the space I have available on the server ran out. I had a bunch of backup stuff on the server, so I moved that to a different location and freed a ton of space, so that shouldn't happen again for awhile, however, I do need to keep the limits I have in the back of my mind. If we start approaching that limit again, I'll need to buy more space.
Hello everyone!
A good end to a very long and dreadful week. My good ol' pal Sicaruius spent 48 hours awake finishing up one of the projects we had this week, and I just finished the second one last night. I still have one more to finish up, but it shouldn't be as much trouble as the other two. Phew. Anywho, I'd like to talk a little bit more about Marble Blast Fubar (MBF) today.
The April deadline is closing in, and as promised I was going to reveal some cool new features for MBF (that still are not listed on the website, or anywhere for that matter). I wanted to remind everyone that signing up to DedalusTech prior to May 1st grants you automatic access to extra MBF content when the game is released, including a cool and unique marble skin automatically installed in your version of MBF. You will also be granted little goodie packages that are usable in-game. The packages contain one-time-use bonus items to help your marble rise to the top of the leaderboards and provide unique in-game aesthetics - maybe you'll get a preview next week - wink wink.
I will, however, talk next week about daily tasks in Marble Blast Fubar. They're not really finalized yet, and the coding is still pretty flawed, but I think the idea will get a lot of folks excited for the game's release. I'll let that concept quell on your minds for now. Also - what are your thoughts on Fubar Fridays? I think I'll start posting about Marble Blast Fubar every Friday and give everyone a little teaser; something fun to end their week with, like this:
Hey Folks!
Today, Simon and I sat down for a couple hours and talked about some features we wanted to spruce up on the website. I started off the evening by implementing a new commenting system for all of the blog articles on the website. Non-registered users can comment, but the comments are approved by a web-admin first. However, if you are a member of the website, your comments are posted in real-time. Which brings me to the second big news - Registration is once again online. I've upgraded the Captcha system to (hopefully) prevent too many bots from registering. To register, simply click the [ + ] next to the Login button on the top right of the screen, and click the Not a member? link. Simon will build an F.A.Q. page at some point to answer some of the general questions we get asked about the website and its features (as well as future features).
@MBF Followers -> REGISTER an account now! (I know, I know, You registered on the old website for Alpha testing, but this is different). Registration allows you to comment directly on the blog posts as well as access to the MBF development forums, where you can discuss the latest news topics and features. Register before May 1st, 2012, and you'll receive an exclusive in-game skin for Marble Blast Fubar when the game goes live, so don't miss out on this opportunity!
Until next time,
~Aayrl
Hey folks!
Yeah, it's been too long since I've posted on here. Simon pretty much covered my ass a few days ago - we've been hiding out in SW:ToR.
I'll be posting a lot more often now, I've been swamped with work for the past few months and have been venting through SW:ToR. It's an alright game, but I may end up checking out EverQuest when it hits Free to Play on the 16th (mark your calendars!) Simon and I will hopefully bring this blog to life in the next few weeks and make it really something special.
@MBF Fans -> New wave of content coming your way! We're working on a release date, and have already started planning for an official announcement early in April. We're still not sure if Mac support will be available on initial release, but we're working hard to make sure its at least compatible. Oh, and something about dynamic leaderboards and daily challenges. More on that later.
Oh, one other thing, anyone interested in Competative Pokemon? I may have one of my friends start blogging with us about his Pokemon adventures. He's got his own YouTube channel and likes to do live commentary recordings. He's always available for challenges, so if you're looking for a good fight, give him a ring.
..and now I have to go to class =[
